| Bio: | I write both original and fanfiction. That said, I have a few quirks. I believe the purpose of grammar and punctuation is to enhance and clarify meaning, rather than being a set of rules that must be followed to the letter. I believe in the Oxford Comma, because I believe it generally clarifies meaning, and will discard it instantly in situations where it confuses. I believe in the use of they as a singular third-person pronoun. I believe in whom except when I don't. I believe in ending sentences with propositions. I believe in starting sentences with conjunctions. I believe in the split infinitive, because remarkably enough English is not Latin and should not be made to conform to Latin grammar. I feel the rule put in place in the 18th century that stated that, since 'two negatives make a positive' was true in mathematics it should also be true in English, was a serious error.
